Literature Text

They don't listen, they only speak.
They hear, but only what they seek.
Soon you realize that nobody's there
To help you out of this pit of despair.
So against this dark world you decide to fight
Until you see a small glimpse of light.
You find that someone is there with you.
They want to be heard, just as you do.
So you listen to them and they do the same,
But suddenly you're overwhelmed with shame.
Finally everything becomes so clear!
The person who had put you here
Was carelessly playing you like a card.
They didn't care that you fell so hard.
You fell, and they caught you and spun you around,
Then, without warning, you were thrown to the ground!
From there you were violently beaten and kicked,
And tossed into this empty pit.
Your new friend helps you find a way out,
And once you're out you begin to shout.
You curse the world for sending you to that place
And tears come streaming down your face.
You look at the scars that will never fade,
and then to your friend who has been your aid.
Then you realize that you can get rid of
The scars if you can find true love.
This will probably be hard to do
Because of what that first person did to you.
But you take the risk and get with your friend,
Because who said sad stories can't have a good end?
I've had a lot of crap in my life. Yeah, this deals with parts of it, but I'm sure other people know this feel. So... here ya go. It's practically my life. Just.. in poetry...

I thoroughly enjoyed the rhyme scheme you used in this poem. It's flows like a stream and it definitely captures the reader's attention. This can easily be applied to a lot of people who have suffered hardships and found themselves in a pit. What I enjoy most about this is the inclusion of a positive aspect in the form of friendship. Friends who come and help you out of the pit. This is a remarkable piece and I applaud you for a enjoyable, well-though out read.
